BBEMNHS HISTORY (ENGLISH VERSION)

It was on June, 2004 when Benjamin B. Esguerra Memorial National High School (formerly known as Taytay National High School-St. Anne Annex) started its operation. From its humble beginnings as Sta. Ana Elementary School Unit I, which consist of two school buildings with seven classrooms, the school slowly emerged as a “dream come true” project of the government under the zoning system which aims to bring the school closer to barangays to realize that poverty and financial problems were not hindrances for quality education.

In a session held on May, 2003, the Sangguniang Bayan ng Taytay thru Hon. Joselito Calderon filed a resolution to convert the Sta. Ana Elem. School Unit I into a secondary school. It was approved on May 12, 2003. It was submitted to the office of the former Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Editha A. Doblada. This is also the result of the collaboration or joint effort of the former Mayor June V. Zapanta and Mrs. Cynthia M. Cruz, former principal of Taytay National High School.  Four hundred thirty students (430) who resided in the vicinity/nearby barangays were transferred in the said school together with the seven (7) teachers from Taytay National High School who lived in the same barangay namely Mr. Jesus F. Obenita, who acted as the Officer-In-Charge, Mrs. Ofelia L. Obenita, Mrs. Victoria M. Zapanta, Mrs. Melita R. Perez, Mrs. Esther L. Roda, Mrs.
Cemoneth M. Andres and Miss Amalia C. Javier.

Because of the rapid growth of the population of the school, Mr. Jesus F. Obenita sent a request to the Governor Casimiro M. Ynares Jr. on 2004 for an additional building.  The office of the governor had granted the request for the construction of the six room two story buildings. After completion of the project, it was inaugurated on the 25th of July, 2005 under the supervision of Mrs. Mercedita L. Cu, who took over as the  new teacher-in-charge.

During the school year 2006-2007, the population of the school continuously doubled. Dr. Mercedita L. Cu, together with the eighteen (18) teachers of Benjamin B. Esguerra Memorial National High School requested for additional buildings from the Office of the Congressman of the First District of Rizal, Hon. Michael John R. Duavit. The had been granted and the construction of the new building was started. It was inaugurated on February 26, 2008 under the supervision of the new principal, Dr. Ma. Cristina S. Marasigan.

The name BENJAMIN B. ESGUERRA MEMORIAL NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL was obtained in 2007 in a resolution that was approved by the Sangguniang Bayan of Taytay under the administration of Hon. George Ricardo R. Gacula, Municipal Mayor of Taytay, Rizal, in memory and recognition of the late former Mayor Benjamin B. Esguerra Sr.

Presently, BBEMNHS is secondary school which contributes and continuously serves as the foundation of knowledge and truth especially to the youth who seeks learning and wisdom.
